Our proposal is as follows:
A housing focus area - "Precariousness and Exclusion" (Axis 6) of the FSE Athens:
* Precariousness, Exclusion and Right to housing in Europe:
1 day, + 1 meeting of work
The objective is to hold discussion in units with a view to taking part in a European mobilization against precarisation (insecurity) and to build proposals.
3 phases could be considered (reports, struggles, proposals):
1. The liberal offensive on housing in Europe (expulsions,
privatization, the European issue and the effects of the directive services, immigrants’ housing… insecure situation of the tenants......)
2. Resistances: fights carried out in Europe (tenants struggles, fights against privatization, expulsions, etc.)
3. Proposals and initiatives: What would be a public service/services of general interest for housing? How to build proposals around the organization of a public service for housing with the aim to ensure access to housing for all.
For that, which proposals should be put forward, on a European scale (SIG), national scales?
Which citizen’s campaigns? Which mobilizations working together with all the current activist movements.
A meeting working on the mobilizations to be carried out together would be necessary. It would be advisable to think of the proposal needed to take an active part in a mobilization, a parade against the precarisation and for the right to housing, the right to work, the right to free movement etc.
By then, it will be necessary to quickly make proposals from the seminars on the site of the FSE, so we would be grateful if you could express your interest, support, comments... so that we can build a work proposal together at the time of this 4th FSE.
< For our French friends, we will propose a first work meeting during the week of January (a date will be communicated to you shortly).
Until very soon, warm regards,
Lilia Santana (AITEC/IPAM)
Jean Batiste Eyraud (DAL)
Anne Pourre (Red No vox)
